How long does the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Credit Institutions have to pay out guarantees?
In the case of cash deposits:
The Deposit Guarantee Fund for Credit Institutions has seven (7) working days from the date on which the event triggering the payout occurs to pay the secured sums.
Having said that, temporarily and until 1 January 2024, the following terms apply:
- Twenty (20) working days, until 31 December 2018.
- Fifteen (15) working days, between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2020
- Ten (10) working days, between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2023.
In the case of deposits of securities
- The Deposit Guarantee Fund for Credit Institutions has up to three (3) months after determining the investor's position and the value thereof to pay the secured sums.
